JPL Solar System Ambassadors Solar System Educators from this region are also welcome to apply. We are planning another workshop in the fall for the Northwestern Region (WY, MT, ID, OR, WA, AK, and Northern California).
The purpose of the workshop is to empower informal astronomy educators throughout the western region to use Mars exploration as context for their education and public outreach efforts during this unprecedented era of Mars exploration. There are several new Mars missions planned in the coming years, including two rover missions in 2003.
The workshop goals are to:
- Empower informal astronomy educators with the latest information on NASA Mars exploration
- Create an opportunity for new partnerships and program planning between Mars scientists and informal educators
